Launching the Application Virtualization Management Console gave Error Code 0000C800, Unexpected error occurred. I just wanted to import some newly sequenced apps, don’t need an error code like that 🙂
Solution
Browse to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft System Center App Virt Management Server\App Virt Management Service\SftMgmt.udl", right-click the .udl file and choose properties.
Test the connection, and bang .. SQL Server not found.
So I decided to restart some SQL Services, it’s late just restart them .. test environment, whatever 😉
Test connection again, succeeded!
The App Virt Management Console starts again.
love at first sight 🙂 thank you.
Thank you so much, I have been working on this issue for hours and could not believe this is all it took.
What a PAIN…. I had to enable Named Pipe and TCP on SQL config to make it work, otherwise – test connection to SQL as described above – failed.
Had this same error when importing an application, saving the package with a shorter SFT filename solved it (max 56 characters).

i am not able see any SQL services in services(local) to restart….
then how to resolve the issue???
Are you logged on to the SQL Server?
