Linksys doesn’t have Windows 7 x64 drivers for the Wireless PCI adapter WMP54G v41. So I started searching for them. After struggling for hours and reading numerous blog- and forum posts, this was my final solution:
I installed the drivers (netr6164.inf) that worked with the previous Vista x64 installation. For the record, I select the RaLink RT61 Wireless LAN Card v2. So far so good. But, the computer freezes under heavy network load (with speedtest.net for example).
Suddenly Windows Update pops up and said there was a driver update for the RaLink adapter. Installed this driver updated and freezes where gone!
